350-400 degrees should be good. If it's too high, the chicken could burn, dry out, or be overdone on the outside and raw next to the bone.

I'm going to try this tonight but I have to cook 2 chickens so I hope that works out okay. I guess I will run the center part of the grill and put the birds on the sides.

beer can chicken cooked in gas grills sucks! Use charcoal instead!

Use a good medium to dark beer for this recipe, dont use that nasty pisswater beer he's using. Also, season the beer with some of the rub and throw some chopped garlic in there too.

I've made beer can chicken with butter under the skin and covered in bacon with homemade blackening seasoning. It was spectacular. (we were stoned)
